SUMMARY:Healthy Community Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Studies show a healthier community environment helps residents be successful in staying active\, eating healthily\, and being socially connected. We can be successful by working together with our friends and neighbours! \nJoin us for a second evening to discuss specific opportunities to build a healthier community right here in Oliver! We brainstormed some ideas\, now we’ll refine and set an action plan to implement it! \nJoin us on June 14\, 2023 from 5:30 – 8:00 PM at Grace Lutheran Church (9907 114 st) \nReceive a complimentary dinner and up to $25 in grocery store gift cards for registering and participating in the workshop\, surveys\, and evaluation form. \nSignup info for this workshop will be available soon!\n \nHosted by the University of Alberta’s Housing for Health project in partnership with the Oliver Community League and the Edmonton Multicultural Health Brokers (EMHB) \nFor more information on Housing for Health\, see: www.uab.ca/h4h \nDon’t worry! DESCRIPTION:Do you like bocce? Maybe you’ll love lawn bowling! \nThe Alberta Legislature grounds has been home to the Royal Lawn Bowling Club since 1923 and on Friday\, June 23 from 7-10pm\, you can check it out for yourself along with our friends at the Downtown Edmonton Community League. Grab some pals\, put on some flat shoes\, and come out to the Club to try your hand at lawn bowling. Members will be on hand to provide some instruction and then you can test your skill on the grass. \nThis is an adult-only event.
