Hendrix Community Meeting

There is a rezoning proposal going to council on March 24th. The rezoning seeks to allow Edgar Developments to build a 29 storey tower at 98th Avenue & 111 St in Oliver. This rezoning involves altering the Oliver ARP.
The Planning & Development sub-commitee of the Oliver Community League met with the developers on November 20, 2013 and largely felt the proposed tower aligned with the principles we gathered during the Molson-Crosstown community facilitation. As such we provided our support.
On December 4, 2013 a public meeting was held for the proposed rezoning. There was a relatively high number of concerned citizens in attendance. This was coupled with a number of emails received from concerned citizens imploring the league to take an extra step in our normal development review process.
How Oliver and the rest of Central Edmonton develop as we move forward is an increasingly important issue for our city. As a community, we to address questions of how our neighbourhood will continue to evolve in the future and what role we want to play in slowing the pace of urban sprawl. Having a discussion of what matters to us will better help us understand what the building blocks of our community.
Therefore the Oliver Community League would like to invite all residents to be part of this conversation. Join us to discuss the Edgar Development proposal and these broader community questions.
The meeting will be taking place:
Thursday March 6, 2014
Grandin School (9844 – 110 St)
Goes from 7pm-9pm
Light refreshments will be provided.
